Maternity Nurses

If you need some extra support in those heady days after birth, our maternity nurses are here to help.

Our Maternity Nurse will come to your home or travel abroad and stay 24 hours a day for up to six days a week. She can be booked for as many weeks as you require.

She will develop a 24-hour pattern for your baby focusing on effective feeding and sleeping patterns and ensuring that the new baby settles quickly and easily into your family.

This full support will also mean your nurse will ensure that the mother is well-looked after, getting enough sleep and eating and drinking properly.

A Maternity Nurse will also undertake the baby’s laundry and can help with essential purchases – and advise on the non-essential!

All members of our team have excellent new-born experience. They may be either:

  • paediatric nurses

  • midwives

  • maternity nurses

  • health visitors

  • qualified nannies or nannies with extensive new-born experience.

Emergency Nannies

Daily / Residential Nannies

Birth and Beyond Nannies Ltd are professionally qualified and experienced and have the commitment and skills to provide a safe, loving and stimulating environment for your child/ children in your own home.

A Daily (Live out) nanny will care for your children in the family home taking either a sole charge or shared care position.

Sole charge daily Nannies will have at least two years’ experience of caring for children and on average will work a 10 – 12 hour day, Monday to Friday.

As well as caring for the children they will perform ‘Nursery Duties’ which will include:

  • Doing the children's laundry (washing and ironing)

  • Keeping their bedrooms tidy

  • Clearing away the toys at the end of each working day

  • They will prepare and cook healthy nutritious meals for the children

  • They will clear up the kitchen after each meal time

A Residential (Live in) Nanny is expected to work an 11 – 12 hour day, Monday to Friday and will often be happy to agree to one or two nights babysitting to be included in the agreed salary

If you require a live in Nanny, you are expected to provide suitable accommodation for the Nanny and this would need to consist of at least a bedroom and bathroom of their own (sharing a bathroom with the children can be considered).

A Nanny is not a housekeeper therefore, nursery duties aside, is not employed to undertake household chores. However, if you are looking for a Nanny / Housekeeper because your children attend school full time this is an option that can be discussed.

Emergency Nannies

At Birth and Beyond Nannies Ltd we recognise how difficult it is for working parents to juggle their home life, their children and their work. This becomes even harder if you find your childcare arrangements break down last minute and you are caught out.

Our emergency nannies can be called upon at short notice. These nannies can cover a breakdown in a family's existing childcare arrangements or for ad hoc childcare.

Birth and Beyond Nannies Ltd are highly experienced child carers. Our temporary nannies can step in and take over the care of the children and the home. They are used to adapting to a new environment and caring for children who are meeting them for the first time.

We have very strict rules as to who we use as an emergency nanny…

Emergency nannies must be over 21, have sole charge experience with the specific age of children, have an up to date first aid certificate and a clean DBS Check (Disclosure and Barring Service - formerly CRB), and have had their references verbally checked by Birth and Beyond Nannies Ltd.

Our temporary nannies have all been personally interviewed by Birth and Beyond Nannies Ltd.

Event Nannies

Birth and Beyond Nannies Ltd can provide nannies for your special event. We have volunteered at many events over the years and have noticed that children often get bored and frustrated at weddings / parties etc because there isn’t much for them to do or any stimulating activities whilst the adults mingle.

Our event nannies can provide craft activities and games for your children whilst the adults enjoy themselves, knowing their children are safe and having lots of fun.

Please get in touch to let us know about your event so we can tailor a package just for you!
